error FIN_ERR on Phoenix with FN29

    Morning everyone.

Has anyone come across error FIN_ERR on a Phoenix with FN29 finisher?
Its very intermittent & I cannot replicate while I've been onsite
There's nothing listed in machine/finisher service manuals or on any Sharp Tech sites for this error code.

    Thanks in advance

    Firmware is on latest.
All rollers in finisher cleaned & sensors checked in Sim.
    Modified springs on RB25.
Disconnected all connectors on finisher board and reconnected.
    Finisher sitting flush against machine

Idea that worked once for us. We swapped the 2 motors for the output trays. Fingers crossed we have not had the issue for a while.

Check the finisher entrance sensor first for paper dust, then replace it if it's clean and doesn't respond in the simulations.

See if any other codes occurred at the the same time on your 23-2 print out.

Hi, Thanks for this post. The issue was resolved. The entrance plate that the entrance sensor sits on was very very slightly bent out of shape. This then caused timing issues with the sensor. I reshaped this plate, re adjusted the height of the copier so the finisher connected freely.

you're lucky I caught it before Slim did.. he would have had a harsher comment.

you've been around since 2014... surely you have read posts that are years old then had a new comment ..so you NEVER in your life here at CTN have yu seen this problem?

and yes I am a Tech... have been for 31+ years.. worked my way up from peon to service mgr. In past lives I have also been a manager for up to 15-16 people.

Same here, had a few of these already...

That plate bends so much the first axle runs against it.

Re: error FIN_ERR on Phoenix with FN29

Thanks guys for digging up an old thread and posting a resolution. I have just had a MX4071 & FN29 start doing this and there seemed to be no info @ Sharp.
I will post an update after checking the finisher entry guide and hopefully another proof of resolution to an uncommon problem.

P.S. Do I need to say how long I have been on the CTN site or how I have been a tech since 1991 or been a service & sales manager and business owner too for some random tribal CTN reason??? Sorry Phil... couldn't resist... but I am open to listening to a real reason why a certain age of post shouldn't be reignited for a valid reason or does this last bit here make it so it should be posted in a different place on the site... maybe rants or something.

Thanks for being a grave digger. This really helped by solving my FIN_ERR issue.
