We have a customer who currently has a U2-91 error code causing their machine to be down. They had this code a few months ago that ultimately led to us replacing the PCU PWB. Now the code is back. I did some research between both the service manual and searching around the web without finding much extra help. I will be performing sim 14 to cancel the error and saw one thread that mentioned firmware. The service manual also mentions "Put down the counter/adjustment values in the simulation to prevent against loss of the counter data and the adjustment values". Does anyone know what sim they are referring to? I went through the list a couple times and didn't seem to find the one they they were referring to. Any other help or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: MX-C402SC U2-91
The U2-91 usually is an EEPROM error. If you have replaced the PCU PWB and tried cleaning the EEPROM sockets, you might have to replace the EEPROM. You can reset the error with sim-16, but if it continually comes back EEPROM chip may be bad and I believe you might need to contact Sharp at that time. Most of your counts will be in Sim-22, print out a sim 22-6 and 90 for a list of various counts.Comment

Re: MX-C402SC U2-91
copiertec is correct. You can only clear a U2 code with sim 16. I agree you will need to contact Sharp on this issue. I agree your issue is an EEPROM issue, and you will may need to get new EEPROM's. I suggest that you fallow TT-082213_1, and MFP-TB-1244R. This is not a quick process, and since you will need to send the old EEPROM's to sharp, you will need to get the customer a loaner copier. This will take about 3 to 4 weeks to complete. NOTE: if you do this your meter will start back at zero, so make sure to get a end meter, and then inform the customer that it will start back at zero. Good luck..Please read that TT fulley to understand all you will need to do.Comment

Re: MX-C402SC U2-91
Thanks for the responses.
After talking with my manager I found that the sim I thought I was looking for was what you guys mentioned to write down the numbers and not actually lower them LOL. Ran Sim 16 to get them up and running and now its up to my manager to decide further action be it a different machine or replace the EEPROM. The machine only has 40k pages and has been having the issue since day 1. Times like this make me happy that i'm not in management.Comment
