I would not recommend to enable SMB v1 due to the exploitable vulnerability of the NetBios port, responsible for many of those Ransomware WannaCry attacks.Comment

Re: Sharp MX-2640N Scanning via SMB to Windows 10
It is not from the Sharp Copier it is from Windows 10 last update.. they blocked the scan to file (SMB) security reason!!!!
If you can enable it from your PC it will work but you need a good IT guy to do it so..
Good luck..

Thank you however we did check this prior to post and there is nothing there to edit the FTP port, only enable/disable. There is port control for FTP Print though but that not it right? It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. –ConfuciusComment

Re: Sharp MX-2640N Scanning via SMB to Windows 10
Thank you, yes you are right that SMB 1 has been deprecated in Wndows 10, however we can scan to same Windows 10 PC from brand new Lexmark copiers. SMB 2/3 is enabled by default in Windows 10, but the copier has to be using a high enough version of SMB.It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. –ConfuciusComment

Re: Sharp MX-2640N Scanning via SMB to Windows 10
UMmmm EXCUSE ME.... windows removed SMB1 due to security issues. IF you enable SMB1 you could be putting YOUR company at LEGAL risk if any virus/malware gets into that companies systems.
not a smart move.Comment

Re: Sharp MX-2640N Scanning via SMB to Windows 10
Yes, we agree here too. For anyone reading through this post, please DO NOT turn on SMB 1 on a Windows PC, ever. If ANYTHING happens you could find yourself in a lawsuit. Use something like Filezilla and FTP (change the port number to a high random number - just google whats available - also use a username/password. This will lock the FTP server down somewhat and prevent someone browsing in via anonymous and seeing there scanned files)It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. –ConfuciusComment
