[Error Code] MXM314 F2-40 toner density sensor trouble error

f2-40 was intermittant .. every 6 months or so
    Now its daily

    Saw it happen during copies

ran 25-1 saw dv output go to zero finally!!

Here is what we have tried.
PM new drum blade dv and charger unit

Next we tried new pcu assy and new dv unit

Removed the DV unit connector from rear frame for inspection . looks good

now we have replaced the hv block at the back of machine and replaced the transfer roller assy (thinking hv arcing).

Also notice the charger grid seems to get dirty fast. and i have seen a small band of dv on rear frame of drum (drum and charger has been replaced multiple times for this) when i open side door upon arrival. (another reason i think hv arcing)

    next is pcu board?
    I fix copiers ...Well Sorta

maybe a defective toner motor or a problem with the toner cartridge?...are you using artificial toner or OEM?

we had the same model with the same symptoms...we replaced everything you have except our machine eventually started giving off a burning smell and we had to replace the Lv Power supply..(if I am remembering correctly)

. Last week I had 2 of those codes both mxm 314 replaced developer working for now.2nd time around for 1 of them.did sim 25 and values are always within acceptable ranges....... This code is nuts. After hearing everything you have tried,Im thinking maybe the SD card is faulty? Those cards are crap and maybe worth a shot.....

I think i may try an HV board nexst.. i know the lv powersupply is an issue with that coil/inductor frying but i have done a few of those and this wasnt the symptoms

I'm wondering if you manually add toner does it normal up?

If the developer is getting undertoned I would try a new process unit.

If it is leaking toner and it gets on the main charger, the charger will short out and pull toner and developer from the developer unit.

tks for all the suggestions guys.. with the working parts machine i swapped out some stuff.
as noted the powersupply didnt fix it.
the dev mix wasnt undertoned. the sensor output would be normal one minute and zero a second later.
even though i knew it was a new dv unit... i thought i would swap the parts machines dv unit in for another chance.
                        IT WORKS.
im like whats going on here. so i swapped the good toner sensor into the newer dv frame and it doesnt work. . so now im thinking bad wires. meter the wires from plug to sensor no broken wire. im thinking its the plug somehow defective.

long story short replace dv unit and my f2-40 seem good now. testing here in office a few days before taking it back to customer.
