[Misc] circuit boards and parts in general for an MX-M453N

I was a Sharp Tech for 20 years, I have been out of the service field for some time. I work in an office with a large number of MX-M453N's. Overall they are pretty reliable machines. We have one machine that is giving us a problem and the tech is saying that parts are hard to get because the machine is 10 years old. I know there was an unofficial spiel like this back in the day but it wasn't really true. Does Sharp still has a board swap/repair service? Are PM parts and parts in general hard to get for an authorized dealer?(that is not on credit hold). I know i could probably fix this machine but my boss would get bent of shape if I was doing that and not my actual job. Thank you.

I've got several of the 453 series in the field, and I've not had issues with getting parts so far. Because of the age of the series, I don't imagine it will be too long though before we start getting "No Longer Available" notes from our distributor.

I know Hytec still does board repair...but once again after we hit the "NLA" timeframe, they'll stop doing them as well.

    Good luck.

I forgot about Hytec, good to hear they are still in business. When I last worked for a Sharp dealer, we dealt directly with Sharp for our parts and board exchange. That was 2010 though. Thanks for your response.
