FN-21 Finisher problem

Hey guys - working on an HP S975MFP [which is the same as a Sharp M7570]

Unit was jamming at finisher exit. Cleared jams and cleaned rollers. After resetting jam condition, display constantly says:

"Please lower the paper guide in the finisher"

All the paper guides are in place and clamped, cleaned all the sensors I can find. Checked unit top to bottom, even tried shutting down and removing power. Nothing helps, keeps giving same message. Service manuals for machine and finisher are no help. Nothing references this error or how to resolve it. Meanwhile the machine is down and customer getting anxious. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks....I did try that, but then I got an F0-70 error. If I lift the guide back up and restart the machine, the F0-70 error goes away but then the "lower paper guide" message comes back

Google search found this site and this problem, just wanted to say thanks. I know it's an old thread but it helped me out today.

On Sharp its the paper guide, sensor FNS103.

Just press the paper guide down, there is a green label on it.

Hi all, I know this is an old thread, but I can't get the trays/guides to lower all once they've been raised. The printer refuses to do anything else unless I resolve the issue. I did take a look at the previous posts & picture, but the printer still isn't wanting to cooperate. Any thoughts?

UPDATE: Paper guide just needed a little aggression! This worked out, thanks all for this thread existing!
