    Airprint on a 3640

I never used airprint before, customer is trying to airprint. I have airprint enabled,The machine has the latest firmware installed. when trying to print from her phone,it sees the sharp and the machine spools up like it is going to make the print but then nothing happens.I am not sure what kind of problems to look for on this. Thanks for any insight about this.

Check to job log and see what you are getting. It will show as mobile.

what version of firmware do you have? and does the machine have a data security kit on it? You cannot use account codes with airprint but I think someone already mentioned earlier in the post. I have seen some higher end business routers block airprint ports and the machine exhibited similar behaviors to what you described. I have also seen it be an issue with the clients phone not being updated....this shouldnt be an issue if the iphone or device is newer but if its older I would definitely check that. Lastly........if this machine was cloned from another series to this one.....airprint could be screwed up. I had a tech do a full clone from a mx3100 to a 3640 and it royally screwed up that machine requiring me to wipe the hard drive and bring it up from like a dead machine state and reinstall all the software. Airprint was part of the issue in this instance but it also did other strange things with printing in general.
