Open means machine cant see resistance of the thermister. Maybe the fuser isn't properly seated.

You can probably reset with Sim 14. Frank, I don't know if you're familiar with these newer SHARPS but the fusers are dogs. There's no web or cleaning system built-in so the belt gets caked up in short order. Belt replacement takes quite a bit of time and if you are unlucky there are some bearings that gets seized up and cannot be removed anyway. So we've been installing the whole pricey unit more often than not

Tech pub about thermistor holder being to far away from belt. New plastic holder for thermistors if you are rebuilding them.

The double tap of the home button should be fairly brisk and quick or it will think you are just holding the home button which will just give you the copy count screen which will go away in a few seconds or just touch the OK button.
