    [Misc] Operation disabled

    I have a Sharp MX 3640 giving a message "Operation is Disabled. Please see your administrator". I cannot web into machine. Screen will not change from this message. I've replaced the MFP pwb because I couldn't get link lites. Now I have link lites, but still have the same message. Can anyone help please.

    have you verified that the IP settings are correct?

    did you run the procedure when installing the board?

    did you back up the NVRAM?

          Can you get into settings standing in front of the machine?

              You're going to need to get access to simulation 24-30, to reset the admin password.

              There is a dipswitch in the board that you're going to have to activate to get access to that simulation.

                I reset the Admin password thru the 'Dip Sw' setting for 24-30, which was successful on screen, but still would not let me Login admin without getting the 'Operation Disabled' message still. I attempted to reset firmware using the CN update method. NG. Oddly enough, I was able to get 49-1 to work. Still getting the disable message. I took off all the accessories, down to the Engine only, NG.

                  This HAS happened to me before. The solution was to do Document Filing Data Clear.

                  It's in the simulation below HDD format.

                  Do the dipswitch again, reset admin, then to Document Filing Data Clear, and that admin password should reset.

                  Good luck[emoji3577]

                      Hi

                      62-11 !!!!!
                      Not 63-11

                      When there is a fax-board --> 66-10 Data clear
                      67-17 --> Printer reset
                      62-10 --> job log clear

                          Replaced the HDD, and wiped the operation memory. Fixed.

                            I see issues like this with aries/aires II machine from time to time. We usually end up cloning the data if we can (address book, network settings) and the replace the sd card(with cards we make) and wipe the hard drive on a pc and then bring the machine back up from a dead machine state, reinstall all software and then put data we cloned back. This fixes it. Sharp has crap SD cards for these models. IDK why. WE make our own and I have NEVER had to repeat this on one we made the SD card on again.
