Recurring streaks on MX-M904 and MX-M905

    Hi all,

We are having a recurring problem with streaks on an MX-M904N and an MX-M905 in a high usage environment.

I believe the MX-M905 has around 4 million and the MX-M904 has about 10 million.

The streaks are the result of the cleaning blade developing a buildup of toner on top. We clean the blade and clean out the waste toner system, which cleans up the copies, but the streaks return every 5000 to 20,000 prints/copies.

Even when we put in new blades, the issue returns within 20,000 prints.

The customer runs pre-printed forms with perforations and generally the data stays in the same area of the page.

There is a third copier there (MX-M904N), which does not have the issue.

We are thinking of replacing the entire process unit, but doubting that will fix the issue.

Firmware is up to date on both machines.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

It sounds like your developer is weak causing dusting.

Thanks for the suggestions. The copiers do have the updated cleaning brush.

The tech said that the problem persists through developer changes, so I don't think it is weak developer, but we'll watch with the next change.

It's weird that it's only these two copiers. We have other high volume machines running without issue. It's usually the same tech doing maintenance, so it's not like he's doing something different here that he is not doing elsewhere.
