    MX-2640 tray 1 not detected

    Hi everyone,

I don't see sharps a lot in the field, but having an issue with one.
Model MX-2640n, tray 1 not detected.
Like the other trays, when you close them you hear the tray lift motor, but with this one you get nothing.
On screen, where it shows the paper sizes of each tray its blank.
So i'm can only guess that the Cassette existence detect PWB is faulty?
    Any advise would be appreciated.

    Cheers

Never had to fit a board for this fault
Sensor on the pick roller yes
As this is what tells the machine to start lift motor
Or the arm on the back could be broken that brood the pick up roller when the tray is push in

You Could try the sensor from tray 2 feed as they are the same [emoji106]

Check CSS11 with SIM 30-2, CSS11 should change on the panal when you open close tray 1

If you can see change of state switch is good

Also check CLUD1, with SIM 30-2 also.

This is tray 1 upper limit swith, if this is activated when tray inserted, lift motor would not activate as machine thinks tray is at upper limit.

might also help to make sure your trays are set to inch and not ab. I have seen this cause weird issues before.

I think Tray 1 does NOT Auto detect size on these machines. Set to whatever paper size you have in the tray manually, and see if that works.

Because I've kicked myself for not looking here first... You did make sure there was no paper stuck behind Tray1 ?
