    Replacing developer MX-4141

Today I replaced the black developer for the first time but when I went to execute the calibration it never cycled. It also said check toner in the upper left hand corner of the screen. What did I do wrong?

Remove black toner, set it aside, try DV setup again.
    Reinstall toner after setup complete.

did you execute 25-2? Did you select k developer? Did you leave toner out while mixing it...if it did mix? If toner was left in the machine, and you executed 25-2, you will have to dump out the developer and start over, otherwise you will always have over-toning.

I did leave the toner in and now that I am thinking about it I followed the directions for setting up the copier as if it was new. So the developer needs to be thrown out? Can I remove the toner and run some sky shots to de-tone and then run the 25-2?

like said before , take out black toner. (the machine refuse to calibrate DV with the toner in it)

do 25-01 select bk + execute.

If it did not mix.... you can still use the developer. Remove the toner, enter sim, with right door open, press execute, close door and that should be it. Once done reinstall the bk toner.

I went back and did the calibration. The copies were perfect before the calibration so it didn't overtone.
Thanks everyone for your help. Being a Canon guy I am not use to replacing developer anymore.
