We have a client that just updated to MS Server'19 and is unable to scan to folder using SMB3. They have a MXM623, MXM753, and a MX-3640. Current workaround is a PC setup to receive scans and then run a forwarding routine to the new server folder but they don't want to keep another PC running to handle the scans. I have not run into this elsewhere, is there a security issue with '19 or something with SMB3 I need to address?

Re: SMB3 scanning
I agree go with the FTP route. Being a server, customers IT should be able to just enable the built in FTP in IIS. No additional software to load.Comment

Re: SMB3 scanning
I believe in general if the machine is over 5 years you maybe out of luck for SMBV3. We have a few Konicaminolta's that generation wise do not seem to be very old until we look at the introduction date. Same with our Ricoh's.
Granted on the Sharp you did not find anything about SMB but a heads up for others. With the "4" series Konicaminolta just upgrading tot he latest "base" firmware or "special" firmware does not give the machine full "SMBV3" capability. You must start at a specific level, change a soft switch or two, load the next required level which is a special firmware, then update to the latest special firmware.
So on any machine when you find the reference for the SMB levels be sure to read the notes for the firmware to see what needs to be done to get it to work properly.Comment
