    MX3070 / MX3071 waste toner container

    Hey guys,

    Has anybody been putting the MX3071 waste toner container (MX601HB) into the older version?

    MX3071 takes MX601HB
    MX3070 takes MX607HB

    When MX3071 came out we had a unofficial the new machines waste toner container (MX601HB) is backwards compatible with the old 70 series machine.

    I have popped a MX601HB into a old stock MX3050 and the machine ran fine and has not had a call yet.

    I know you cannot take a MX607HB and put it into a new machine since it does not have the little window for the waste developer.

    I just talked to the fellow who told us this and i think he's just covering his ass (they probably record phone conversations) and said you can't do that.

    Any thoughts? It would be nice to just stock one waste toner.

      Our supplier doesn't deliver MX607HB's anymore. From now on only MX601HB. So if you stock only the MX601HB for this series you will be fine.

          Thanks for confirming this, we were discussing this today and tried the 601hb in the griffin 4 and looks and fits fine, looks like we will be using these for now on as we have some customers with a mixture of both machines, makes life easier.
          Networking skills are advantageous but use of a 3m vacuum cleaner is essential

              The newer machine use a photo sensor on the right hand side for when the waste is full
              So how would you know
              If the waste was full on the older model ?
