    SMBv2 on MX-3100N

Is it possible to have SMBv2 on a MX-3100N. Currently using SMBv1 with a couple systems, but the company now is requiring SMBv1 be disabled. I tried a few ideas as seen online but none seem to work with the port 445 method.

    Thanks

I think you are going to have to upgrade the firmware.

Yea, I was afraid of that.

We used to be Sharp techs, but our business was sold and we are no longer so I don't have access to that update.

      Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure about the 3100's, but I know on the 402's there are 2 different firmware files. One for the Data Security Kit installed, and one without.... and if you try loading the wrong one you'll get a mismatch error.

I'm in a similar boat....we just got acquired too.

No SMB v2 for the MX2600/3100

          Only SMB 1

**This is an older post, so anything newer that the MXxx70 series supports SMB3

The following devices support SMBv1 and SMBv2

          MXC301W
          MX-M266N/316N/356N
          MX-M364N/464N/564N
          MX-M365N/465N/565N
          MX-M654N/754N
          MX-M1055/1205

The following devices support SMBv1, SMBv2 and SMBv3

          MX3050N/3550N/4050N/5050N/6050N
          MX3060N/3560N/4060N
          MX3070N/3570N/4070N/5070N/6070N

All other devices that support scan to network folder support SMBv1 only.

MX-2600n, 3100n, 4101n, 5001n do not support SMBv2, Sharp stopped supporting this model several years ago. If you have Sharpdesk you can scan though that, however, some IT do not like it because it's an FTP program.

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but the client did some searching and they mentioned this to us. Does anyone know if a "special firmware" was released for the MX-3100N:

              Special Firmware Update:

MX-2600NMX-3100NMX-2600GMX-3100GSize37.27 MBTypeZIPDocumentDriver / UpdateBrandSharpDeviceCopying Equipment / MX2600 3100N Special Firmware Version for SMB failure caused by security update 05.00.P2e0_B.

The Last firmware update from sharp was over 5 years ago on this model...they no longer support it or are providing updates for it, the model is now about 11 years old and will never be smbv2 or smbv3 compliant.
