    Replace developer unit message

I'm currently working on a sharp mx-2615n the machine only did about 200k prints and it's displaying replace developer unit y, m, c, bk and I'm not seeing anything about this in the technical manual I've inspected the units and they are physically ok and I don't want to just change all four units without confirming that the developer unit is the actual issue. Did anyone ever experience this before?

what is the life on them?
unit could be detecting a lower than acceptable bias charge in the dev units.

or it could be a EOL message...

either way if you ignore the message your PQ/CQ could suffer

It did 201k so far but their is also no yield to the units so I didnt want to replace them without first confirming that will fix the issue.

The developer was charged at 150k along with drums and fuser maintenance kits.

THAT info SHOULD have been in your OP.

IF you called manufacturer tech support... you would have been hung up o if you didn't state at the gitgo.

            good luck with your issue.

The units dont need to be replaced. The developer itself needs to be replaced and reset. Most likely going to need kits and drums. Maintenance counters are done by revolutions not page counts.

                  Re: Replace developer unit message

you need to change out the developer in the units.....a guy mentioned just resetting the counters for the units without replacing the developer.....DO NOT do that. It will cause copy quality issues and cause your machine to use toner up like crazy and can cause damage to other units. I have worked on these units since new...several hundred of them and have seen it over and over.

Dudes name is "Unrivaled Support"...lmfao, love this site.

The units themselves do not need replaced, just the material within them. Do the dv stir and reset your counters.

Did these units come from another machine ? I had a machine come in with 4 wrong model dv units and the message it gave was to replace the developer units themselves. Long shot but worth mentioning.

We change this at setup. If you don't, you end up doing PM real early as rotation occurs after sleep mode, jam removal, opening a door, reboots, etc...
