Which board are you looking for...

It should be the one that the network cable plugs into... (I think)

Yes, the mfp pwb is on the left hand side on this family of machines, it is the pwb that the network plugs into. there is a micro dip switch on the upper left hand on the board. If looking behind the rear covers you were seeing the PCU, not the MFP.. the dipwitch block is fairly small on the MFPPWB, but only has two switches.

Correct, it is NOT advised to flip any hardware switch while the machine is powered up, let alone hot plug or unplug any electrical connection on a sharp, or any mfp, IMOHO.

you may have a failing sd card then, they can do some weird stuff when they fail, Ive had a few SD and HDD failures (at the same time), a couple of them showing a boot loader failure, of the linux kernel, that should never be displayed, but it was on a 565 series, it took both SD and HDD at the same time to repair

Laser power step up,clear the appropriate counter, and recalib. Historious effect. (spelling may be wrong)
Lets say a new drum, takes 1w, to flip from + to -, 100k pages later it takes 1.5w to make the same change, that is is the H effect. your laser is applying 1.5w, when only 1 is needed, because the machine still thinks it needs 1.5w.. so the laser is overexposing the drum, hence a larger toner pull than needed.
