sharp arc-160 toner collecting container of transfer unit

i have a sharp arc-160. the display came up with the error of toner collecting container of transfer unit call for service. well i typically just change that out myself, have done it a few times with no problems. this time, when i cleaned it out, the service notification does NOT go away. do i need to reset it some how? any ideas? please help.

Run Sim 24-08 to clear Waste Toner Counter. You should be doing this each time to keep the counters at the correct levels. The message will go away with this simulation.

If you do not know about the codes it is time you sent for an engineer

          I agree with Gordie....
There is a reason for getting a proper technician in to look at your machine. If the waste toner unit is full, most likely there are a number of other maintenance counters almost due as well.

I'm impressed you have even been able to clean the waste toner unit by yourself if you are not even a Qualified Tech!! Well done.

i would love to get a tech in here, however they wont service it because i own it. don't ask why, they are the only ones in town that used to do sharp and now they wont. libel or something like that i guess. so, if i break it i break it, it's no one elses but mine to ruin. so, is there any way you will explain how to fix the problem?

Is this transfer unit container different than the little waste container in the back left corner of the machine? if so, then i'm really hosed and have a 35k paper weight.
            thanks

              That seems crazy....
Dont know why no-one will service the machine just because you own it..... it should be the service departments aim to get clients like you..... cash sales/charge jobs.

              Anyways, To clear the code......

              Copy mode
              Program
              Interrupt
              Clear
              Interrupt
              24
              start
              8
              execute
              CA

Machine will restart with the code cleared. You press anything else other than this, its your problem mate..... you wanted the codes, you own the machine....... go for it.

i know, it really bugs the crap out of me. and of course, i can't get the thing sold either and they wont take trade, well they will but they wont give me anything for it.

thanks for you help, but one LAST question. is the transfer collecting container different than the little plastic container that you just replace with a new one and it works? you know what i mean, the one in the back left corner, almost like a 2 liter bottle?

if it's different then i haven't done anything but put a new one of the those in so it's a bigger problem then i thought, i might just have to offer them a nice penny to come fix this thing for me!

                i appreciate it.

sorry mate.... I was under the impression you were talking about the Transfer Belt Unit waste toner container....... ggeeeeeeezz.
You should put a new waste toner bottle in at the rear door. I am picking that the transfer belt unit waste toner container is full and that is why you cannot clear the code. You are going to need a service call on your machine as it is a sort of messy job if you dont do it exactly right.
Spend the money, get the service call done. You have done OK so far with the user replaceable parts, but now you require a service call for the other waste toner unit.
                  Sorry mate.

yep, that's what i figured. crap, i have to get someone to fix this thing.

btw, the code worked just fine, BUT if the transfer belt container is what the problem is, i don't want to mess with it. seen it done and not something i have the patience for.

thanks a ton for clearing this up for me, now i search for a tech to fix it.
