MX-C300W reboot on SMTP test

Hi,
I'm trying to setup this MXC300W in my home network, so pretty simple environment.
Configuring the SMTP settings to get scan-to-mail working.
Whenever I run the "Test" in the SMTP settings, the MFP reboots.
There are no messages about connections failures or anything... it just reboots after about 5 sec I click the button.

I've tried this with the MFP connected to Wifi and to Wired (different IP addresses), but same thing.
I've tried with different SMTP settings from ISP and even gmail, with and without authentication... same thing.

When I remove the DNS config and run the SMTP test, at least I get a message that he cannot resolve the host name. Which is logic, but at least it shows the routine is starting.

Current FW is 02.07.E1

Any suggestion?

By the way...
Same thing happens (reboot) when I do the "scan-to-mail" operation from the operator panel.

I have not seen your specific problem, however, in the past, I have seen some strange reboot problems when RARP is enabled.

This is an obsolete address resolution protocol. I'm not even sure if it is available on the C300.

If it is it is in the Network>>protocol or services (I believe). Make sure that is turned off

Unfortunately I could nod find any references to RARP in any of the config panels.
Issue happens every time any mail send function is tried (also noticed it happening with the log status/alert messaging feature via mail)

I don't know how old my FW release is, neither do I know what has been fixed since then, but to make sure I'm not fighting with dragon that already has been slayed, I was thinking of doing a FW upgrade.
Current FW is 02.07.E1
I have no indication that this will fix anything of my problem, but sounds like the logical thing to do.
Now I noticed I cannot find any place to download the latest FW.
This is a private use printer for my personal home use, so nothing like a professional service coverage on it or anything.
I bought this MFP second hand, since I was sick and tired of the consumer style printers that never work when you need them to.
Can anyone help me with getting the latest FW for this device? (Sharp MX-C300W)

So, just a little update (no solution)

meanwhile FW was upgraded to latest version
But any SMTP test or function would have the MFP reboot.
- Test SMTP button
- Send Information/Alert messaging report
- Scan-to-mail

Issue seems not ralted to scanning as all other scanning functions work:
- copy
- scan-to-FTP
- scan-to-desktop

That is enough for me to work... only frustrating this one fails

Have you set up all the network settings in the web browser of the machine
IP address
Subnet
Gateway
DNS if I had problems I would use 8.8.8.8 for this

I think it is setup as it should.
I've tried with DHCP enabled => getting IP, gateway and subnet mask from network
Now I've set fixed IP.
For DNS I've used different setups as DNS servers (ISP provided, use the Default gateway as DNS, use the google 8.8.8.8)... unfortunately there seems to be no test function on those settings on the MFP.
Also for the SMTP settings I've tried with a gmail setup (smtp.gmail.com, port 587 & gmail credentials) or using my ISP SMTP setup.
I have a NAS on the same network and same setup who's able to sent notification messages.
It all results in the same => as soon as I trigger any mail function from the MFP, the device reboots (no error message or whatsoever).
