    Sharp OSA error on MX-M3071

    Hi all,

We were switching out a customer's MX-M365N with an MX-M3071 and ran into a problem with their OSA app. The app runs fine on the MX-M365N, but gives the following error on the MX-M3071:
The data from external application is in incorrect format. Call for service.

We did use the same settings for the OSA app when available. I did try multiple combinations of the available settings for the OSA app, including Data Size (Wide-VGA, Wide-SVGA), Extended Platform (checked, unchecked), and Browser (HTML Browser n2.0, HTML Browser 3.5). Regardless of the combination of settings, we always received the same error above.

We are having the customer contact the third party OSA app developer, but was just wondering if anyone has seen this and had a workaround.

My guess is that their OSA application will need to be updated to get it to run on the newer copier with the newer web browsers.

    Thanks for any suggestion.

Re: Sharp OSA error on MX-M3071

Sharp OSA comes in various versions from 3.5 to 5.0.
The MX-M365 comes with 3.5. and the M3071 is a newer model so I would think it is 4.5 or higher. There are differences in configuration, although the app is the exact same, if the OSA version is not the same. You can pull the job log and drill down to find the exact error the machine is throwing.
The most likely cause is the display screen. The 3071 is 1024x600. The 365 is 800x400

The M3071 isn't listed but Sharp should have an updated version of this list:
