swapping dv units on sharp mx-3640

Hi I have a sharp MX 3640 with a magenta dv unit that is contaminated. I have cleaned it changed developer and it still blocks the flow of developer leaving blank lines on copies. I tried swapping dv units and I get message that says install dv unit. Is there a way to do this with out changing developer?

    Thanks

did you init the dev unit after install?

    run any adjustments?

how many pages on the original dev unit?

did you clean the HV contacts?

are you running genuine OEM toner?

I did not run any simulations. everything is oem. The second dv unit I pulled out of a working identical copier. I was concerned about calibrations because origional dv unit works but has a couple of streaks.

        Thanks

I was wrong the copier was a MX 2640 which is a different DV unit. I was pulling a DV unit out of a 3640.

Sorry about that. I guess that I have been out in the field to long.

These models are notorious for filter material or toner clumps getting under the doctor blade. You can remove the doctor blade assembly and use a fine kitchen screen to sift out the gunk. Be sure to remove the doctor blade assembly, not just the doctor blade as it would then need to be adjusted.

Hi What i normally do is take the cover off in front of the doctor blade then loosen the doctor blade screw where the streak is you can then pull the blade out slightly turn the mg roller to expose the lump and remove the lump keep doing this until all the streaks are gone put the doctor blade screw back and because you only removed one screw the blade should not need adjusting problem solved. put the machine back together and test copies. Please also check the Magenta toner as we found compatible toner for this model particularly the magenta have lumps in.
