I sell the same model relabelled Toshiba Lexmarks (Toshmarks). They work well as long as not put in too high a volume range when the economics of them begin to decline rapidly.
Lexmark mainframes are cheaper to buy but the accessories are more expensive.
Whatever info you get on Lexmark yields make it 75%.
Very likely that Sharp has customized the LCD panel but the operating system is 100% Lexmark eTask.
You need to always have one in stock because if you are only use to a Sharp operating system, it is like learning english and French.
You will come to conclusion that this is a good move with product quality equal/ better than a Sharp equivalent.
Pretty solid. Web interface, sims and disassembly is a learning curve when you have worked with Sharp equipment for years. They fill the gap that Sharp is missing. I will get you some real world data next week. We have sold a ton of the XC4140, C4150 devices.
We have several of the 55ppm mono models running 30,000+/month without issue.
If a customer has a Sharp be very careful switching them to a Lexmark. They are not even close to Sharp when it comes to ease of use. The Sharp interface is much more user friendly and responsive. The Lexmarks produce more of a business color and cannot compare the the color that a Sharp will produce. It took about a year to figure out who not to sell a Lexmark to.
If you want to pick our brains give us a call. I can send you some service records and reports. We signed up with Lexmark June of 2016 and it was a great decision. Opened lots of sales for us we couldn’t get being Sharp only.
The screen you see in the Sharp literature is just the splash screen. One you go to copy, scan etc you enter the clunky Lexmark operating system. We hoped that all the interface screens would be like the Sharps.
work for a dealership that sells Lexmark and Sharps. Boss is pretty pissed because the Lexmark comes with a 12 month warranty but under the sharp Brand they only come with a 90 day warranty I believe. But from what I've seen so far the lexmark are pretty solid and have a great design. They dont feel flimsy compared to the Sharp's. And to be honest the Lexmark display feels smother vs the sharps.

Toshiba relabels the Lexmark XM3250 +HDD and the C4140/C4150. THe C4140/C4150 have been replaced by the almost identical C4143/C4153. The HDD brings seldom used functionality to the MFPs.
The colour models feel dated with only a 60 ipm Reversing document feeder. Lexmark deliberately does not make all of their apps available on relabelled devices. The Lexmark method of auto email meter read collection is often not reliable. Lexmark has a very good cloud portal for collecting meter reads but not available on relabelled product.
On all of the Lexmarks, the Dept Codes functionality is clunky and not user friendly.
On the plus side, the Toshmarks can use a Lexmark original print driver, so for those accounts like automobile dealers who must use Reynolds & Reynolds software your Sharpmarks could fit right in.
Do not be surprised if Sharp does not inventory any parts. You will have to source those through someone like Synnex.
On the Lexmark XM3250 if the fuser fails, it is a bear to replace. Definite design flaw. You have to strip the MFP down to the metal frame and hope you can complete the task in a couple of hours.
The Lexmark market strategy is sell the mainframe for cheap and make money on accessories, consumables and parts.
Lexmark's copier stands are way too big and over priced.
You will want to buy your stands from Quick Quality Cabinets out of Kentucky. They come broke down and can be assembled in a few minutes. For the C4140, XC4143 the are built to match with steel aligning posts on the top. Very nice look.
Figuring out account codes was a bear.
Lexmark does not break down parts availability as far as Sharp does. With Sharp I can buy a single component on a pwb while you will only be able to order the entire pwb from Lexmark. Same is true for small parts. Most boards cannot be swapped from between machines either.
Sending a remote firmware update command through their Cloud is handy.

All of the Sharp A4 line now come with a 12 month warranty. It was just announced this month. I'm not sure if the warranty compensation labor paid to the dealer will be as good as Lexmark.
