Is the MX-C301W a decent reliable table top? We have stayed away from this series and have been using the Kyocera M series instead so I do not know too much about them.

We had a few of these out and they have not been very reliable for us.We are going the kyocera route. So far they have been good for us.Comment

I like the Kyocera m color series, they have been for the most part reliable. Use OEM toners only and make sure you shake them good before installation and it seems to alleviate any toner feeding issues with the augers in the transfer belt unit. I think the feed tires are a little difficult to change but overall reliable and decent color.Comment

If the customer runs envelopes and can't remember to flip the fuser pressure levers back and forth then add needless service calls.
Our highest volume MX-C301W was at 165K when traded in. 10 service calls. 3 were fuser levers not flipped back after running envelopes and 1 was damp paper. The other 6 were legit calls. 2 PM's.
We have several of the MX-C300P printers doing high volume color. Our highest is metered is currently 1,495 black and 668,784 color.
I personally do not like them. You have to completely remove the paper tray to change the waste container. Dumb. I can send you some service records if you want to look them over.Comment

Re: Sharp MX-C301W Is it a reliable table top?
One of my least favorite Sharp boxes. These units were supposed to "fill the holes" for Sharp color desktops. Doing the color registration adjustment on this turd was a real pain in the a$$, most tech would skip them. My biggest complaint on this unit is the cost of toner. Even with dealership pricing, these things were expensive to run.

Re: Sharp MX-C301W Is it a reliable table top?
We just started to rent them up for the right customer in need of desktop printers. We were looking at the Lexmark core Sharp's released a few months ago... but the cost of toner from Sharp's end is... insane, and the Lexmark toner cost is almost half price our end, for the model equivalent.
Cost per page is high. But we will see.
I have been having issues refurbishing them with the LSU calibrations. They are a pain, a hassle and waste of time. I do my best manually adjusting the LSU screws, and the rest I just use Sim 50-20 until everything is aligned.
Something that really should take like 2-3 mins is a 30 minute adventure. But other than that, I haven't really had much issues. They seem solid, but we have to wait and see. Fuser's are pricey, and pressure roller flat spots are common getting them off-lease.
But like the comment above mentioned, they are used to "Fill the holes" in our clients need, and they are a good "emergency" printer. My two cents.Comment
