      Re: MX2314 & SCANNING ISSUES

So I have been onsite today to a new customer who has asked if we can help with a problem with their scanning as their IT guy cannot sort it. Scan to folder is set up and was working perfectly until the 29th April, then it stopped and now the machine gives the message that 'selected servers are not found'. the path is correct as it works when pasted into a pc there. So I am thinking its security issue and the MX2314 doesnt have the necessary TLS level or whatever it's called and maybe there was a microsoft update on the 29th April that has stopped the scanning.

Am I heading down the right path with this or up a dead end?

Interestingly i tried to set up scan to email as a short term workaround and althought using good known smtp set up, i kept getting Authentication type not supported, which is a maessage i havent seen before.

SSL and TLS are different, with the latter not showing as supported on that model.

As to email, what port are you using with what encryption and login method ?

As TLS isnt supported then im guessing it worked until the update then it stopped. as for the email thing, I tried port 587 with ssl and authantication. i tried port 25 and 2525 with no ssl. the connection test worked but it would not send any scans via email, just kept giving that same message

That message indicates it cant resolve the smtp server name.
Check your default gateway and the DNS settings.
Windows 10 uses TLS 1.3 by default. You can go in and enable older protocols, but I would not recommend it.
