Sharp MX 3071 error code help please

Hi guys, I had a new customer call in this morning, they have a Sharp MX 3071 full color machine. She said they were running a job making flyers & it jammed & had an error code of L4-17. She tried to clear it, but it won't go away. I do not service sharp, so I looked around on Google & from what I have seen, it sounds like an issue with the black drum unit. I was looking around for the Black drum unit & have not been able to find it as an entire unit. Does anyone have a place I can purchase the black drum unit? I haven't been to the call yet, but I wanted to at least have some pricing for the customer. I did find the procedure to reset the error, but I will also need the procedure to replace the black drum unit. ANY help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Code says it could be a load problem on the drum drive motor. Make sure a drum cleaning blade is not flipped causing excessive load. The code was for drum drive but also mentioned transfer unit and developer unit. I have not had this code, but to start I would make sure all the units turn smoothly and not hard to turn.

Is there any special procedure to remove the drum units? Thanks

Do you have a place I can get a Black drum unit if needed?

To be safe, replace the entire process unit. Waste toner overflowing is a common cause. You will likely pull it out and find the gear on the rear of the unit shredded.

        Color Calibration:
        Launch SIMs
        44-2 execute
50-22 execute, turn MCY adjustment screws L or R 1.0 for each click
        44-6 execute
        44-26 execute
        Relaunch SIMs
        46-74 execute

Good morning Guys... I went on this call this morning & found that there was packed "rock like" toner in the auger of the black drum unit, I was able to get it all out, NO broken parts. I also found that the waste toner box was full & the waste toner from the drum units couldn't empty into the waste box. I swept out the waste toner box, cleaned the augers & the machine is working great, "Happy Customer"!!

My question is, is there a vendor out there that I can buy the drum units from? At least the black one for now. Their machine has a total of 158K on the meter & of that- 133k is black copies. So, I would like to get a black drum unit, as an assembly.. Can anyone guide me where to get the entire black drum unit & IS THIS THE CORRECT PART number needed-- MX-60FU-SA??
          Thanks

MX-40NU-SA (North America) highly recommend removing the toners and shaking them up. Consider color calibrating as well.

I apologize for questioning your part number, BUT, are you absolutely sure that is the right drum unit for the MX-3071 machine?? I searched that part number & Precision Roller has it, but it doesn't list the MX-3071 machine for fitment..

There is also 2 eBay auctions that have the MX-60NU-SA, part number.. BUT, neither one of them list the MX-3071 as a machine for being able to fit. I just want to be sure. Thanks!!

I also found this part# MX-40NU-SA.. Is this correct? I really appreciate your help

MX-40NU-SA is for the 30/35/40 ppm which would include the MX-3071.

The MX-60NU-SA is for the 50+ speed.

If that waste box was full and the little tab was popped out, you're going to have another packed or broken process unit in the future. A new box is necessary
