    FN29 FIN_ERR

I have a customer with a MX6071 which is suffering from sporadic FIN_ERR jams. I haven't seen it happen, but they have told me the paper exits the offset tray a few centimeters then stops. I've ran an emergency firmware update, cleaned and checked the sensors and reseated the harnesses to the main body. I've also one user printing to the very top tray to see if it jams there at all.

Has anyone any experience of this?

    Update July 20, 2021
MX-FN29 with MXPN15 punch unit: The FIN_ERR was caused by a slow motion of the punch unit. The bracket for the guide bearing was bent, see attachment.

    Update November 7, 2019

See appendix “Probable causes of FN29 fin_err.pdf”.

    Update February 18, 2019

MX-FN29: The FIN_ERR can be caused by an incorrectly installed UPEX sensor (Shift paper exit sensor). Please check the installation of the sensor or replace the sensor.

In another case, the FIN_ERR was triggered by a defect in the punch unit.
