MX-M654 band on backside of paper

Hello, this machine has 155829 copy count so drum and developer are only at 19% used. The charge kit and transfer kit have been replaced. All erase leds have been cleaned. It happens from prints and copies. The drum has the band on it right inline with the sensor, the transfer belt has same band and thus the paper also. I have taken the drum unit and the transfer belt assy apart and reseated board connections. Kind of at a loss as to what is causing the band. Thanks for any insight on this.IMG_2335.JPGIMG_2334.JPGIMG_2336.JPG

Maybe something around the magnetic roller of dv unit? Push away the toner/dv to inspect.

Thanks for the reply KDR363. The mag roller looks fine. The black band to me looks like the black patch that the density sensor looks at,but why it is not being erased I dont know. The erase leds are turning on.Still trying to figure out.

If I have my troubleshooting correct if you block the laser with tape (equals totally blank) and the line still appears it's a charge issue.

If you get the blank copy it's a laser issue.

I did block the laser path with tape and the band still was the same. it turned out I did not have the transfer assy installed correct. I had it apart many times and must have installed it wrong each time. Now that it is installed correctly all is fine.

The transfer unit has a metal plate that contacts a cam that moves the transfer unit in or out.my problem was that there is a black plastic piece on a hinge that is supposed to basically cover the cam and then the metal plate of the transfer unit rests on the black plastic piece. Well the black plastic piece got hinged over away from the cam. so on mine the metal plate of the transfer unit was resting directly on the cam-not with the black plastic piece between the two. Hope you understand what I am trying to describe.
