    Registration Sensors on MX-7081/8081

    I have been delaing with an odd issue of F2-78 sporadically on MX-8081. The registration sensors get cleaned on every service call for these machines. Looks like enough toner/DV has accumulated under the shutters for those sensors. I am not the most confident in the shutters working properly, but I am not entirely sure how to test if they are. The solenoid feels loose/weak when messing with it. Obviously I will start by replacing drum, charge, and cleaning blade to fix dusting, but I am also considering these items which Sharp says to "replace as needed" within the process unit frame:

    -Side seals F/R
    -Toner reception seat
    -Cleaning brush

    I see a wear mark on the drum currently at about 50% life. I do not have enough experience with Polaris machines to know their tendancies, so I am curious to see what you guys think or have seen.

    I've found a bulletin board on the french site about this, but for the Polaris 1, asking to replace LPLTP6488FCZZ and RPLU-0367FCZZ (9 and 10 in 6240 image, 31 and 32 in the 7081 image).

      I have found no related bulletins for the Americas and have all updated items. I have decided to replace;
      -Cleaning brush
      -Side seals front and rear
      -Toner defense seals front and rear
      Along with the usual suggesed PM items for the drum in the S.M. Are there any items in the attached screenshot that anybody replaces at time for service (330k) instead of as needed?

        I don't have enough of theses machines to judge, but I simply do the strict minimum and vacuum what I can inside.

          I have had this many times, if you are certain the ID sensors are clean and your machine is within its service interval, I suggest you replace the shutter solenoid.

          They get caked up with developer and toner inside it.

            I did noticed the solenoid has some play to it when I removed it. Thanks for the info!
