I am not sure if I am going crazy or not but we have a B557P (current firmware) that turns on without any issues at the shop, but when I take it 2 minutes down the road it will not even get the orange light on the power button. I am using the same exact power cord at both locations, tested the outlet and it is pulling 118 volts. They have another B557P at their office that turns on but the one I brought will not receive power from ANY of their outlets. And of course as soon as I take it immediately back to our office it turns on no problem. I tried resetting the machine, left it unplugged from the ethernet cord, redownloaded firmware, and still it does not like to turn on outside of our office. Anyone else had this problem before?

Did you measure hot to ground and neutral to ground?
I had a "install" at a house that only had 2 prong outlets. Probably still on knob and tube. I told the lady i can't plug the copier into that outlet as we need 3 prong. She came back with a 3 prong outlet and expected me to wire it. I told her im not qualified to do that job. She stormed out and came back with a extension cord and plugged it into the outlet and gave me that. I guess she cut the ground prong off on the cord. Power filter wouldn't turn on. I measured from hot to a screw on the outlet box then neutral to the screw and got 58 volts on each side. Regardless to say i didn't install the machine and refused to return to the site on health and safety reasons. The carpet was worn away from the path you had to walk down. Junk piled everywhere and i don't think they even had running water.

The outlet was put in recently by a licensed electrician. The line monitor showed the outlet at 118 volts and this did not drop when I put another B557P on the same outlet that actually turned on. It is something isolated to this machine but I am not sure what would cause a single machine to not receive power from an outlet that powers another machine of the same model.
I have seen similar issues at installs as well unfortunately. Those "site surveys" by sales are not always the greatest.Comment
