    Sharp MX4141 Firmware

    Hi Guys,

Been trying to diagnose a Sharp MX4141 which seems to freeze about 10 seconds after startup. Initially it would display a 'Please Wait' message, but now it just seems to completely jam. Some of the steps I have undertaken are:

    1) Diagnosed the MFP SD Card - Backed up the contents and transferred to a blank card....all seems to be fine and it appears the card isn't the issue
    2) Tested the HDD for errors. No issues on that front

The only option I see it likely to be is firmware. Does anyone have the firmware available for this model? Your help is greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't rule out the SD, you need to copy a working card to rule that out.

Do you not have access to sharp-start? You can access the firmware library there. If not, email me at zach@hoglandcopiers.com and I can email the file over to you.

As stated above though, I wouldn't completely rule out the SD card quite yet.

      Good Luck!

Does sound like SD card but slide out the board use a can of air to blow our the connector on the board and machine and reseat and see if that helps, done that before which fixed but also seen SD cards fail and do the same.

Also try deleting the job log off the machine, when its full the machine does get laggy.

Also carefully clean the contacts on the SD card with alcohol on a lint free rag and let it dry completely before putting it back in the machine

I will second the SD card. If you copy the existing SD card onto a new SD card you are potentially copying corrupted data. Copy one from a working machine if you can.
The times I replaced the SD card the machine had similar symptoms. Sometimes removing the card and cleaning the contacts would work for a while. But the symptoms would reapperar. And replacing the SD card would fix it.
