    MX4060NFK

Hi there, we have a sharp 4060 which overall is pretty good.

However, one issue we struggle with is, we try to do a lot of overprinting e.g. theatre companies send us posters for their show, with a space for venues details/times etc.

More often than not the copier jams, or doesnt pick up the paper properly. or when the printed posters travel through the copier, the print on them gets warm and some comes off and sticks to the roller. Bits of that then come off onto the posters and makes them messy. It can can leave a residue that comes off on subsequent printing too, until it's all gone and the roller is clean.

    does anyone recognise this issue?

    Thanks

    Ian

More than likely the posters sent to you are printed on unsupported media, all paper types used should be for laser printers.

Basically you're asking it to do something its not designed for.

Thanks for you reply. The manual says that glossy paper can be used through the bypass tray. Oh well I'll have to think of another way around it. Maybe I can copy the poster onto paper that is more appropriate and the copy it rather than print it.

      thanks anyway,

It can, as long as its for laser printers and you're using the correct settings for printing (paper type / weight etc)

It could also be to do with what the posters were printed on originally

Stop immediately before ruining the fuser.

This is an office copier, not a production printer.

It can do this media, but not regularly or a large quantity.

You will eat through the toner, devs, drums, and fuser belt.

This will do glossy paper but you are limited to 1 print at a time and you need to make sure the bypass tray and print drivers are set for the proper media. You will also need to try different types of glossy paper as all are not created equal.

                Good luck

Thanks Bilyahn, yeah it sounds like this isnt going to work for me long term. i assume that even if i upgrade the copier it still isnt going to do what i need?

                  thanks
