AR 407 L3 code Scanning problem

I have had this problem twice and now my 3rd goat it again. L3 code with scanner advancing 4 to 7 inches and stops resulting in copy with lines instead of print. I have replaced scanner board and motor at the same time, actually I did this twice and I still have this problem. I had this same problem before and ended up with the copier in the shop and replaced everything I could think of and ended up swapping machine out since nothing seemed to work to resolved the scanner problem. Any and all help would be thankfully welcomed. I also went over all scanner system ( cable, pullies, rails etc. ) Thanks again

i faced this problem many times
it is a mechanical problem not electrical one
it is caused if there is a dust or or sticky stains in the rails of the scanner unit or in the pully or wire.
So u have to clean the rails and pully and wire clearly with a cleaner like WD40 and put light white grease in rails and every part have a motion
you can also clean belt and motor scanner are well by disassembling motor and belt also clean the bearing on the rear axses which carry the pully of wire.
