    MX 2651 Toner Chip Research

    My distinguished greetings;

    in my reseach on toner chip "CRUMs" (to recycle / save some used toner that go to waste, or in some case where the eeprom on toner some time get damaged)
    i would like to know if any one knows :
    1. serial communication protocol (probably i2c, am not sure 100%)
    2. the data length
    3. the transmission speed or
    4. the clock signal
    used on those eeproms (seems their datasheet is hidened) and i don't seem to find any info into sharp manuals

    Thanks.

    Seems a big waste of time, unless you need to produce hundreds of these CRUM chips for use in Sharps . They are plentiful and very, very cheap from Chinese sources. Last I knew, we were paying $3.50 each for these chips - in larger quantities you can haggle with those Chinese vendors & get the price close to $1.00 each. And yes, we save partial toners from the dozens of machines we retire, add toner to the correct gram weight and re-chip them. We also re-chip toners from outside our market area. Saves us $thousands over time.
