    Adding memory to AR-235

    Hi!

I just added 128M of PC133 SDRAM to my AR-235, but it does not show in the configuration printout. What should I do? The manual does not say anything about adding memory.

    Thanks!

Did you use a Sharp memory expansion ARSM5 or 6? Looking at the SMG it appears that you can only upgrade the memory with 256 or 512MB memory chips, did not specify PC100 or PC133 that I could find. They do not show a 128MB option so that may be the issue.

    Good luck.

Umm... you lost me there. I don't know what ARSM5 and ARSM6 are. I just opened the hatch behind the copier and plugged SDRAM-DIMM memory modules - which I happened to have - in the empty slots. The machine just does not seem to recognize them. One of the three DIMMs gives an error message when installed, but two seem to pass the initial system check.

Am I doing somethong wrong here or is the machine just picky about the memory?

It's probably just being picky with the memory. But try a 256 MB or 512 MB memory and see what happens. SMG just refers to the Service Managers Guide for these machines.

          Good luck.
