    MX-4070N U1-01

    Good morning!

Need some advice on this. One of our MFPS on July of 2021, reported U1-01 for battery replacement. No worries, we bought a new one from Energizer, and replaced the battery, everything works, customer is happy, we are good to go.

Half a year later, today, the machine flagged the same error code.

To be clear, this machine has the latest firmware August 2020 firmware.
It's attached to a 15amp 120v power filter that record events. VERY few power outages, but it happens, it's LA.
No bulletins on this model for this error code.

Has anyone had to replace a battery so soon? I'm still a "newbie" in the sense that I have been with the industry for almost a decade, but honestly, I have only changed like... 6 batteries. They don't happen often.

So any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Ive been dealing with Sharp for many moons and can tell you this is not normal.

I would check the voltage on the battery in the machine currently, should be 2.5 V or above.

Possible board trouble either draining battery prematurely or incorrectly judging remaining voltage

I think the last battery I replaced was on a SF-760. That was something like 30+ years ago. We have Sharps out there 20 years old still with the original battery.

      Def some weirdness going on.
