    Hello,

We have a MX-2614 at the customer site. When we scan a B/W all is ok. When we scan in color, the scan has a green glow over it.

    Has anyone exprecienced this before?

    Regards,

    Ramon

You may need to run the SIT chart sim.

Yes I have seen something like this on an ARBC320, many years ago, I had a mouse pee damaged Color ASIC, on the ICU (now the SCU pwb). Yours may not be mouse related, possible a staple fragment, or some thing else conductive made its way to the board, or just chip failure.. Color scans were a perfect blue background, L to R, and F to R. Color copies were ok. Only color scans were affected. I would try the SCU Pwb first, a somewhat easy change, the main scanner color ASICs are on the SCU. Second I would try the Mother PWB, it acts like a 4 way stop between the SCU, MFP, PCU, and LSU PWB. Third print controller (MFP). Be very careful during you EEprom swaps. If the SCU change works, if the color copy/scan balance is off, then Use SIT chart ADJ.

Do internal prints like sim 64-5 also show this?

Internal prints are ok. The strange thing is that when we make a copy the print is ok, but when we make a scan to email there is a green glow. I would expect that when i would make a copy the same problem would occur.

On the newer models you can adjust scan quality, to include bumping up green.

So I would suspect the older machines were probably adjustable as well but only through SoftSwitches.

I would print out a 22-6 from the machine in question then compare a 22-6 from a similar machine.

Softswitches that print out as "black text on white" are default
Softswitches that have been changed will print as "white text on black"

I like the idea of checking for this. I've had all kinds of issues related to staples or paperclips making their way onto the boards. Thankfully that's something that is very easy to check.

                Best of luck
