    Sharp MFP and Printers

    Hi Guys,

My company is about to change Brand.
We always had Kyocera but now it's time to change.
We are a small company that works mainly with rental.
It's not yet decided but now (tech rep) I have to give my opinion.

What's about Sharp? The MX are good models?
Searching on the site seems Sharp is focused on security.
What's about the color print quality?
And monochrome models? Should I keep Kyocera for mono?

Now let's this thread go, this is no time to be shy.

    Thank you in advance,
    Kyove

Currently A4 is hard to get from Sharp so you might would want to hold on to Kyocera for now if you switched.

We have never sold the light production color so we have never had to deal with that type of customer or product. I have sat in Sharp service dealer meetings and they are consumed with issues on those products. Color quality on the A4 through A3 60 ppm has never been a problem for us.

We have sold Sharp/serviced for decades and they have had their turds over the years but the newer models have been reliable. We average 1.5 hotline calls to Sharp per year and those are always us informing Sharp of an issue and not really us needed assistance. That is a result of experienced techs but it also speaks to the reliability of the equipment. If you have never worked with Sharp expect a learning curve and use the hotline. Our hotline is US based and English is their first language. Many are actual techs with years of experience.

Ship times have slowed but from what I have read equipment, parts and supplies are much easier to get than most OEMs.

You might also get access to sell the Aquos interactive smart boards. You are just the seller and/or installer while the 3 year warranty is handled directly by Sharp and they continue to service until the model becomes obsolete.

Sharp also sells rebadged Lexmarks. As we are a Lexmark dealer we avoid selling these models if possible. Lexmark color quality is not as good as Sharp. It is what I would call business color. They run well but are a whole different beast from service standpoint. Not as user or tech friendly.

        Why not just use Canon?

All the canons I have worked on were not service friendly from even the simplest things like changing drawer rollers. I feel like sharp has the service people in mind when they design the machines. Quality holds well also. I like sharp.
