Sharp MX-C407F Network folder scanning issue

I have a Sharp MXC407F (Lexmark XC4140) that will not scan to a network folder. When I test the connection on the MFP it tells me "Invalid Network Folder Address". The scanning was working for 3 months then quit. I have checked all of the shared folder settings and permissions. Even created a new user for scanning and updated firmware. Does anyone know if Microsoft updates change settings in file sharing. Is there something I may be missing. Thanks

I would check the update history on the PC or server that the folder is located to see if a recent Wondows update lines up with when the failure started.

Since it was working fine and then just quit, I would assume your path username and passwords are correct. Have you enabled the SMB 1.0? Windows did change some securities which disabled Network scan to folder on many of the sharps so I've been having to go back in and enable that.

Don't quote me but I think it's under programs and features then advanced Windows features and there may be other boxes to check underneath the SMB 1.0 check mark.

I've had to change a lot of them on Kyocera as well as Sharp.
      Best rule for troubleshooting.

I would not change the customers SMB security back to SMB1 as this could cause security issues and the fact that the machine is current model that can easily scan to SMB2.

One thing i have noticed recently with windows that may cause an issue is in Security - Virus and threat protection - Ransomware protection - Controlled folder access, if this is on, it blocks documents and settings folder and various other folders being written to, have a look into that.

Found the network was set to public. When I changed it to private in network type settings and the antivirus software, it was able to scan. Thanks for help.
