[Misc] Sharp MX-3070N , TLS support and access simulation mode

Greetings. My customer is upgrading from the Sharp MX-4101 to the Sharp MX-3070N. I did a recon to the device and according to the spec sheet under "Network and Data Security", one of the features listed is "TLS Encryption". I took a look at the Network Services and under SMTP it only shows "Enable SSL". Also I can't access the simulation mode as the "Ver" which should be displayed in the lower right corner, isn't displayed.

So, my questions are, does this model support TLS Encryption for SMTP and how do you "unhide" the Ver?

TLS Encryption is supported on that model and double tap home key to show version.

It does support TLS 1.2 or higher, although it does not have a check box for it, it is done under the security settings and make sure the encryption level is set to medium.

Please keep in mind, if it has an older firmware version it may not support TLS 1.2 out of the box. If this is the case, you will need to install a firmware patch for TLS 1.2.

In regards to the encryption, thank you. As for the question about the version, I did the procedure as per the service manual (double-click the HOME button). The Ver didn't appear on the screen (lower right). I will go back and check it again. .

sometimes how fast you hit the home key makes a difference.
