I was given a sharp mx2300n copier that did not work, I messed with it and had to install a new primary transfer belt, It copied reasonably for about 300 copies, then started to fade out and not copy until it did not copy at all. I disassembled the green drum and toner feed sections of the machine and found that it was overloaded with toner so vacumned out the waste toner sections of all the colors and black. Reassembled and there was no difference. I ran some auto color adjust simulations: 46-26, 46-24 etc. and still no copies. It printed this as a result after one of the sims. C_HV_ ERR I can not find what this means or what I should do to get copies again. Any suggestions?

Re: mx2300n does not copy anymore
1) why did you replace the belt and what did it look like before the belt was replaced?
The reason I ask is that, it's unlikely you've lost color on all 4 drums and developers. So it's more likely an image component that's common to ALL colors...like the transfer belt.Comment

Re: mx2300n does not copy anymore
I am not sure what the developer units are. If they are the silver serrated drums beside the green ones, then they look fine to me. The waste toner compartment in each color was way overloaded with toner because the toner was caked and not exiting into the waste toner box. The silver drums attract a black metallic granular substance to them along with the toner.Comment

Re: mx2300n does not copy anymore
I replaced the transfer belt because when I first got the machine, I cleaned it with a cloth dampened in windex. I did not know about putting talcum powder onto the belt before starting the machine. Anyway I think that the belt stuck to the cleaner blade and when I started the machine, it ripped the belt into many many pieces. The first belt looked good to me but had 2 depressions in it that looked similar to when you stretch a plastic bag.Comment
