    MX4070N U2-90 code

We have a MX4070N with the error code U2-90. We have checked the connections on the boards and the eproms. We have changed the pcu/pwb board. When checking the firmware the upside bundle and the bottom bundle are at all zeros. The usb shows the updated numbers but the machine will not update them. I down graded the firmware and the the pcu firmware went to zeros along with the upside and bottom bundles remaining at zeros and when i next upgraded to the latest firmware the pcu went back to the upgrade numbers, but the upside and bottom bundle remained at zeros. Our next step is to send in the eproms for a new set. The total meter on the machine is 281,910.
Does anybody else have any other ideas?

    I had a MX6070N doing something similar.
I swapped the HDD and problem was solved.

Maybe check if you can go to settings on the screen, and the webpage (mine didnt want to do this)

Boutn, Thanks for the reply. I put a new hard drive in and when it came up it went to the U2-90 code again. It sounds like we are going to get started on the eprom route. We already have a loaner at the Customer site.

Just want to confirm you did SIM 16 to reset U2?

I know manual references PCU....but I've had luck in the past by simply doing an emergency firmware update.

Firmware must be done via emergency method, as I understand it...

Firmware update via SIM will only update files needed to bring all current

Firmware update via Emergency method will force a re-write of ALL files.

I have done the sim 16 and reset the U2 but when exiting it goes back on.
I have not tried the emergency firmware but will give that a shot. Thanks

            Re: MX4070N U2-90 code

I ran the emergency CN Update and the upper and bottom bundles updated. After I rebooted the U2-90 code came back and would not clear with Sim 16 so back to getting the eeproms.

I had that once and in my case it was the MFPC board that cured it.
