Trying to help a friend who is on vacation while I cover his calls. I don't do much Sharp, predominantly Canon. Have to visit this machine in the next couple of days. Customer says the machine stops every few pages and goes into cleaning mode. Might this mean the belt assembly needs replacement or is there somewhere I can turn it off. TIA

Re: MX2600N Cleaning Transfer Belt
By any chance, does the device have the optional MXLCX1 Large Capacity Tray Unit installed on the side?
If yes, you can make the following adjustments to help, especially if that is the default feeding tray.
Sim 51-02, Select Engine, Select A4LCC, Change the default value from 40 to 30.
Also, if you have the MXLCX1, I have seen jobs where the PF Clutch and Transport Clutch inside the unit go bad, causing incorrect timing of paper feed, and subsequent incorrect lead-edge arrival at Registration Rollers. This causes the prepared image on the Transfer Belt to then cleaned off and the job started again.
Every time I had it, the LCC life was around 500K-600K total (excluding PF Roller replacements when due).
Simply disconnect the LCC and bootup without it. Test the device using standard engine tray and desk trays to see if the same Please Waiting/Cleaning message appears.
Also, no matter what device configuration you have, set the following soft switch to disable the secondary belt cleaning message.
Sim 55-03, Soft Switch 2, Bit 2, Change from 1 to 0.Comment
