    MX-6070V H3-02 error code

Trouble cancel won't clear unless I cancel 2 or 3 times in a row. Then when it finally cleared I tried an internal print and paper stopped at the registration and it threw an L4-12, 2nd transfer error. New fuser didn't change anything. This kept happening back and forth so started thinking PCU. Replaced with new PCU, booted up to CN update and flashed it. All good, reboot to the H3-02 again. Trouble cancel, and it boots right back to the H3-02. Can see lamp light briefly then off. Temps looks normal one minute, very low the next. Tech support basically just read the problem description to me right out of the manual and attached it to the problem ticket. Since then I've replaced the 2nd transfer unit for the L4 code, AC PWB, and HL PWB. Can't get away from the H3-02 code. Called support back today and got the same tech. He said I've tried everything there is and it's time to contact our DSM

What version of firmware did you reflash?
I recall an old PCU Version 0601Z100 contained a fix for H3-02, which corrected a TH_US1 false temp code. Obviously, we're up to ICU Version 8.00 (PCU Version 0761Z100) now.
Otherwise, H3-02 can be caused by the loss of drive to the Fuser Unit. Due to the non-rotation of the Fuser unit, heat builds up and is detected by the thermistor, resulting to H3-02 error state. You've replaced the Fuser Unit already, so check the Drive Gear within the Fusing Drive Unit, which can have either damaged gears internally or a worn shaft causing the one-way bearing to slip and subsequent loss of Fuser Drive. If the Fuser Unit is not rotating, H3-02 is a code which appears almost straight away in this instance.

Also, when you replaced the PCU Board, did you perform the correct procedure, including removing the Fuser Unit until prompted on screen?

      Re: MX3070 H4-00

      Hi

this bug has been around for a long time. If it occurs again and again, then it is definitely due to the plug contacts of the heater in the device. The attachment describes which pin causes which error. There was a free tool from Sharp Germany to clean/grind the contacts, since the pins oxidize/corrode and then this error happens.

      Best regards

We had one doing this and we ended up replacing the fuser connector-harness that is mounted to the frame of the copier with one from a parts machine we had. When we removed the one causing problem we could see a couple pins that looked deformed. The new connector cured ours.

I did flash it to 8.00, and also I found the clutch was bad in the drive unit causing no fuser rotation. Replaced the clutch and verified fuser rotation but the H3-02 continues. And I did follow the manual procedure of replacing the fuser.

Thanks for the feedback! At this point going to dig into the connector, possibly harness and see what we get, fingers crossed.

Ok, machine is fixed. After replacing the clutch in the fuser drive unit and getting fuser rotation back, H3-02 remained. Started thinking what was said about the drive gear being worn. Visually wasn't broken or seemed very worn, and manually turned smoothly but went ahead and grabbed another drive unit from a shop machine and whatcha know, H3-02 is gone. Machine running nice and smooth. The other drive unit had the upgrade gears and shaft. Will be stocking those from now on! Thx for the help.
