    MX 3050N mSATA image file

I have to replace the msata on the SHARP MX 3050N and my question is: will the imgc file for 3050V work on 3050N? The firmware is the same for both machines but I only have the 3050v.imgc msata file and wonder if it will work

I changed the msata on 3050n with a file for 3050v and it works like a charm.

We were going to do this, but 2-3 years ago we called SHARP, and asked about cloning on the down low, or at least using parts MFP's for easy swap. I was told somewhere a long the lines of:
"Bad idea, I have had A LOT of calls of MFP's doing strange things, and even getting temporarily bricked because of this, because the firmware is cloned to the boards.... etc, if you do decide to use another mSata, must be the same model, options, and firmware levels. 🤔

Never really tested the veracity of the suggestion, we just wound up buying OEM msatas for the Phoenix boxes and keeping them in stock.

But good to know that you had a good experience swapping. 👍

We copy good cards from working machines to msata cards we buy online. Not saying there cant be problems but it has worked for us. One thing that happens is after doing it you will probably have to change some settings back to how the customers machine was setup. Things like home screen icons, energy save. I have had some machines where the network settings changed, but most of the time not. When things do change it changes to the same as the machine the card was copied from.
