MX-C357F noise when printing double sided

    Hello,

We have an MX-C357F in our shop that sometimes makes a lot of noise when printing double sided.

The problem is that the toothbelt from the fuser to the exit rollers 'slips' which makes a lot of noise.

This belt is really loose, even with other/new machines, but normally doesnt pose a problem.

But with this one it does

Is there something we can do about this?

Got a response from Lexmark today: replace Top Cover PN: 41X1284

Just ordered the Sharp part, as the machine is still in warranty.

Costs about 3 times as much in comparison with the Lexmark part.

we have the lexmarks doing this as well.. put a shim under the fuser to tighten the belt.

I've had to do about 7 of these. I originally ordered the shims, but they took to long and were ridiculously priced. Take of left side cover, unplug fuser. Disengage the springs on each top side of fuser. Remove right cover and take out the screw. Remove exit flags on exit roller and take belt of pulley. Unplug sensor cables. Swing out top of fuser to expose the area required for shims. Instead of the sharp part shims, I used these without any problem. 3mpad.jpg

Put the fuser back in position, attach the springs and all other parts EXCEPT for the screw that was taken out from the fuser on the right side. Put the pulley belt back on. The tighter tension of the belt holds the fuser in position. Just trim the pull tab off the strip before attaching. Mine have now been trouble free for over 3 months. Good Luck.
