Apple + color/black&white prints in preview

We have a few customers who complain about the amount of color prints they get billed.

The problem seems to be that "preview" which opens pdf files, photos,... always seems to print in color, even when you choose black&white.

Its prints black&white, but with all the colors...so its still a color print.

I tried with a b&w driver, but mac doesnt care and still prints in color

Is there a way to remedy this?

Have you tried setting in the CUPS interface?

If not ...... on the MAC in question browse to http://localhost:631
In menu bar click "Printers"

Select desired printer.....then in drop down select default options

Try it there.....

You could try System settings - printer settings - condition settings (change from Auto to b/w)
