    L4-11

Removed a TU16 (inner tray/blank) from a MX-6070 in order to install a MX-FN27N. The 6070 was printing to the TU16 without issue. Error code comes up after installing the finisher

Followed the instructions from the Installation Manual.

    Help!

Did you remember to remove the shift motor from the delivery unit before installing the finisher?

I checked my history with this code, I had to replace the PCU PWB due to it being fried on an MX-3570N because the OSM motor initially had no Earth Harness installed. So, we replaced the OSM motor, attached Earth Harness, and new PCU PWB to resolve issue. This was without the inner finisher.

Next make sure there is no damage to the finisher harness. It could be that it's not attached properly. The issue could be isolated to the finisher, I would honestly try to put the TU16 back, and see if the code comes back without the finisher.

If the code comes back with the TU16, I think that PCU PWB could be the issue.
If it doesn't, then the problem is isolated to the Inner Finisher, and I would try replacing it with another one.

BEFORE all this however, I recommend you re-flash the firmware, it's free, doesn't cost you anything, and will only take less than 5 minutes.

        Courage!

Reinstalled the TU16 and machine is working again. Will have to inspect the harness and flash the firmware when I go back.

Did you also remove the shift motor from the delivery exit unit? That comes off when removing the TU-16. Also when you install the hole punch or the blank, there is a tab on the blank that has to fit in a slot on the exit unit. If not in that slot it could cause that code. Other than these things I am not sure what else it may be.

As stated above, when removing the TU16, remove the shift (collate) motor and lock the delivery unit back with the step screw it originally was installed with.
