    BP-70c31 'misfeed' at power on

Called to look at brand new machine we just installed. Found it odd that misfeeding was being reported already. I was running it without a problem, then suddenly it appeared that it shut off with paper halfway through the exit. Log recorded P_on error. Only the blue power light stayed on, after a few seconds it rebooted and showed misfeed. It happens at random intervals, sometimes with no paper being stuck. Regardless, it shouldn't shut down and reboot. At first thought it was a power issue. Surge box reported 528 under power events. Had customer find a dedicated outlet to use.
Today they called to say they did, but was still 'jamming'. Being a new model, info still might be thin, I'm wondering if anyone else has run into the same or similar problems with this model yet. I talked to Sharp and they gave us suggestions that we are implementing. I would be appreciative of any input from someone who has had these issues.

Did the new outlet record any power events?

If you catch it in the act, check your sensors and see what's lit. It'll be easier if you take a picture of a working machine b/c a lot of sensors rest ON instead of OFF

Had a similar issue on a MX5070. Turned out to a dodgy port on their switch, which was continuously flooding the copier with packets each time this particular user printed. Had them swap the port on the switch and never heard about it again.

After testing with a different machine at the office, it seems that the surge protector may be faulty. Has similar random shut down events.
