I have read all the articles on how to recover the password, but none work for my current situtation. I was able to request and receive recovery password. However, the machine is trying to connect to the old server and keeps failing. This leave a big box on the screen which wont allow me to input recovey password. This is a newer machine, so dip switches only allow for calibrating screen. I did try and copy the 56-2 from a MX-6051, but it failed to transfer to the MX-6071. I also bought a new mSata for the copier and that didnt work either. This post is a last ditch effort to find a resolution. Thanks in advance.

Re: Sharp MX-6071 Locked, previous user changed password
Bought this machine off lease. Cant connect to orignal server. Cant reset network back to static. Cant view web page. None of the buttons that it allows me to press will make the box disappear, only for a brief moment. Which was enough for me to video record the code to send to Sharp. Its not long enough to type in the recovery password. But I do appreciate all of yalls responses.Comment

Also, does it give you an option to log in as administrator? If so, have you clicked on it and when you are in the screen where you type the admin password, do the double home screen tap.
EDIT: After doing tests, I think I was able to replicate the issue. You might have to turn the machine on and off. In order to get around the white box just click on admin log in on the top, once you are in the admin log in page double tap the home screen, enter 4 6 3 /
and now it should allow you to enter the reset code from Sharp and reset the admin password. Let me know how it goes!Last edited by danny464; 06-26-2023, 08:51 PM.Comment

Here is the picture of the error that comes on as soon as the copier comes on. I can only get into service mode, they changed the admin password too.

- double tap home screen
-click on the bottom left corner
- use code 463/

I sent you a private message, if you do not receive it let me know. If you want to schedule a time to facetime I can probably help you out that way.Comment

Re: Sharp MX-6071 Locked, previous user changed password
Update.
I thought copier was in static mode, turns out it was in dynamic mode. I used sim 22-90 to print the NIC page, in service mode, as I couldn't get into system setting to print the nic page. Now I could login to the service web page and clone the copier settings from another machine to this machine. This didnt restore password to admin, but it did stop the copier from looking for the server. Which was the message box blocking me from entering Sharps recovery key password. Entered recovery key and restored admin password. Thanks for everyones suggestions.👍 1Comment

This copier is trying to connect to papercut, just click try again and it will eventually let you into settings, turn off external accounting on the OSA page.Comment
