    Sharp Mx-pb14 expansion kit.

    Good day everyone!

A client have a sharp mx-2310u, machine is working fine but they change their windows desktops and windows laptops into Mac.

I know they will need expansion kit on it. MX-PB14. And we never install this kit in any of our clients because most of them are windows users.

Is it possible to use the one that already installed in other machine? (Not working machine) even not the same model? Like 2614? 2314?, Tho i need to check first if its compatible with that expansion kit.

Any inputs? Before going to the client it a bit far from the city.

    Thanks.

Unfortunately no. Each application kit has it's own unique set of inputs that are specific to the copier serial number it is being installed on.

    Good luck

I think when you purchase it you have to register it and then sharp sends a code that is input into copier to make it operational. So I dont think you can swap to another machine either.

Like they said, each kit is married to the serial number. You can't switch from machine to machine. Make sure you have the postscript kit to print with Mac computers. According to the brochure, you will need to make sure the model you install for them has MX-PB14 (PCL Expansion) AND MX-PK11 (Postscript Expansion). You can look in the sims under 22-10 to see what kits have been installed on the model. These options can be purchased from other distributors rather than Sharp.

If you don't have postscipt, the Mac may find the printer and even look like a print job is sending. However, the copier will start start up the fans like it's printing, but never receives it and the print disappears. Postscript is a must for Apple.

            Good luck.
